Siddhartha Mukherjee


Dr.Siddhartha Mukherjee is an Indian-born American doctor and non-fiction writer. He is the author of the 2010 book, The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer, which won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Mukherjee also serves as a staff oncologist at Columbia University Medical Center.

The award winning The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer details the evolution of diagnosis and treatment of human cancers from ancient Egypt to the latest developments in chemotherapy and targeted therapy. In addition to the Pulitzer, the book has received numerous awards, including recognition by Oprah Magazine, The New York Times and Time Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Books of 2010”. It was also nominated as a National Book Critics Circle Award finalist.
